Meditation means the stability of the mind.
Practicing meditation is about training the mind to stay focused on a single object without wavering. It can be compared to a house pillar—if the pillar is not firmly planted, the house may collapse easily. Similarly, a mind lacking the power of concentration struggles to accomplish tasks. For instance, someone with a short attention span finds it difficult to focus for long periods.

– A still mind leads to sharper thinking, improving learning ability, creativity at work, and problem-solving skills. It enhances one’s overall quality.
– Concentration strengthens the mind, bringing emotional balance. When faced with challenges, a person can let go quickly. Meditation helps in coping with suffering, reducing the risk of depression, and maintaining equanimity—neither clinging to happiness nor sinking into suffering.
– Strong concentration develops into Jhana, creating a foundation for higher realms of existence, such as celestial or Brahma realms. It also serves as a stepping stone for advanced practices like Vipassana, which requires the guidance of experienced teachers.
