Organized by the Department of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the National Office of Buddhism, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and The Knowing Buddha Foundation for the Protection of Buddhism,
Phra Phromwachiramethi, Abbot of Wat Arun Ratchawararam, has assigned Phra Sophonvachirabhorn, Assistant Abbot, as the monastic presiding officer.
Mr. Chaiyapon Sukieam, Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs, as the lay presiding officer, Ajarn Acharavadee Wongsakon, President of Knowing Buddha Foundation for the Protection of Buddhism, Ms. Kaniknan Lorsithong, Deputy Director of the National Office of Buddhism together with Ms. Vera Yang, representative of the international network, executives from the Ministry of Culture, government officials, staff, and over 1,000 Thai and international participants.
The project launch at Wat Arun Ratchawararam, an important religious site and symbol of Thai Buddhist art and spirituality, is significant in reflecting Thailand’s potential in cultural heritage and Spiritual Tourism, and demonstrates Thailand’s position as a center of meditation extending to a global, universal level.
The group meditation practice at the prang (temple tower) courtyard of Wat Arun is to share Loving Kindness and positive energy to the global society. Organizing this event on “Valentine’s Day” expands the meaning of “love” to universal loving-kindness without borders and proves that…
