Atmosphere of the Visakha Bucha Day Exhibition Booth

The Knowing Buddha Organization (KBO) for the Protection of Buddhism recently organized an exhibition booth at Wat Benchamabophit Dusitwanaram (The Marble Temple).

The booth featured educational exhibits focusing on the proper treatment of Buddha images and symbols, alongside the foundation’s achievements in protecting Buddhism. Additionally, it provided insights into the core teachings and the profound significance of Visakha Bucha Day. Visitors also enjoyed a hands-on lotus-folding demonstration to offer as a Buddhist tribute (Buddha-puja).

Distinguished Visitors

On this occasion, Mr. Chaiyapol Sukhaeam, Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs, along with executives and officials from the Department of Religious Affairs, Ministry of Culture, honored the exhibition with their visit.

  • They paid respects to the Buddha images representing the Birth, Enlightenment, and Passing Away (Parinirvana) of the Buddha.

  • They also participated in the lotus-folding activity to pay homage to the Buddha.

The “Phenomenon of Faith” Concept

The event featured diverse activities tailored for both locals and international tourists under the concept “Phenomenon of Faith.” This was held in observance of Visakha Bucha Day—a United Nations Day of Vesak and an internationally recognized day—commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and passing away of the Lord Buddha.

The 3-day event packed with meaningful cultural activities. Buddhists and tourists alike are warmly invited to visit this inspiring exhibition.

Event Highlights: May 31, 2026

  • Alms Offering: Merit-making and offering food to Buddhist monks.

  • Sacred Rituals: Carrying the sacred cloth to wrap around the Bodhi tree, pouring water, and offering supporting pillars (Mai Kham) to the Great Bodhi Tree.

  • 1-Million Lighting & Chanting: Lighting 1 million lanterns and chanting the Sarabhanya prayer 1 million times simultaneously nationwide as a tribute to the Buddha.

  • Phapa Robe Offering & Dhamma Talks: Presenting Phapa robes and listening to Dhamma sermons celebrating royal faith, with the Thian Rung (royal dawn candles) lit throughout the night.
